Install LVT flooring

Installing Kährs Luxury Tiles vinyl floors is designed to be efficient and hassle-free. Our Click-joint system allows for a fast, floating installation with a secure, precise fit—ideal for projects that need minimal downtime. For high-traffic or commercial areas, the glue-down method with Kährs Dry Back floors provides extra stability and durability.

To achieve the best results, follow our step-by-step installation guide and preparation tips. With Kährs, you get a seamless, stylish, and long-lasting vinyl floor—installed with ease.

Before you begin

Proper preparation is key to a successful installation of Kährs Luxury Tiles.

  • Temperature control: Ensure both the room and flooring materials are kept between +18°C and +25°C for at least 24 hours before installation.

  • Subfloor requirements: Kährs Luxury Tiles can be installed over most clean, dry, solid, and level subfloors. Remove any wall-to-wall carpeting or similar coverings.

  • Moisture management: If installing over concrete, the relative humidity (RH) must not exceed 85%.

  • Underfloor heating: If using a glue-down method over underfloor heating, turn off the heating system during installation and drying time. UFH must be gradually turned up over time after installation.

Following these guidelines ensures a stable, long-lasting installation. Read more about preparation steps before getting started.

Quick tips
1
Examine

Estimate the number of floorboards needed to cover the width of the room, ensuring that the final row at either end is at least 50mm wide.

Inspect all boards before installation to check for any damage or defects.

2
Laying floorboards

Install the boards lengthways to follow the room’s natural proportions.

For Click vinyl floors, maintain a 10mm expansion joint around the perimeter to allow for natural movement. Ensure the floor remains unrestricted, avoiding heavy fixed furniture that could limit its flexibility.

3
Gluing the floor

If gluing down a Kährs Dry Back floor, follow Kährs’ recommended adhesives and industry guidelines to ensure a secure, durable bond.
