How to

Install LVT flooring

Installing Kährs Luxury Tiles is quick and smooth—just like the result. Our smart Click-joint system makes floating installation fast and easy, perfect when you want minimal disruption. For extra strength in busy spaces, the glue-down option with Kährs Dry Back adds long-lasting stability.

Follow our step-by-step guide for best results, and enjoy a beautiful vinyl floor that’s as effortless to install as it is to live with.

Before you begin

A smooth installation starts with the right preparation.

Temperature matters: Keep the room and flooring between +18°C and +25°C for at least 24 hours before installation.

Subfloor check: Kährs Luxury Tiles work over most clean, dry, solid, and level surfaces. Just remove any carpets or similar coverings.

Moisture watch: For concrete subfloors, make sure the relative humidity stays below 85%.

Underfloor heating care: If gluing down over underfloor heating, switch the system off during installation and drying. Afterward, turn the heat back on slowly to avoid damage.

Follow these steps for a floor that’s built to last—beautiful, stable, and ready for life.

Quick tips
1
Examine

Start by measuring your space. Estimate how many floorboards you’ll need across the width, making sure the last row on each side is at least 50 mm wide for a balanced look. Always inspect the boards before installation to check for any damage.

2
Laying floorboards

Install floorboards lengthwise to complement the room’s shape. For Click vinyl floors, leave a 10 mm expansion gap around the edges to let the floor move naturally. Avoid placing heavy fixed furniture that could restrict this flexibility.

3
Gluing the floor

If you’re installing a Kährs Dry Back floor, use Kährs-approved adhesive and follow industry best practices. If unsure consult with a professional flooring installer.
